Sindh’s Minister for Agriculture, Sardar Mohammad Bukhsh Khan Mahar, has launched a groundbreaking new initiative—the Agri App called ‘UgAi‘. This app is an integrated e-commerce platform aimed at boosting agricultural productivity across the province. With this innovative tool, farmers will have easy access to quality fertilizers at official rates and will benefit from advanced crop monitoring features, helping them manage their farming more efficiently.
The launch event featured Secretary of Agriculture, Supply & Prices Sindh, Rafique Ahmed Buriro, as well as senior members of the farming community and officials from Engro Fertilizers. During the event, Minister Sardar Bukhsh Khan Mahar highlighted the significance of the UgAi app, calling it a crucial step towards modernizing agriculture in Sindh. Through this platform, Engro Fertilizers will ensure that fertilizers are delivered directly from warehouses to farmers, according to their specific farm size and needs.
The UgAi app aims to guarantee continuous access to high-quality fertilizers while making the process convenient for farmers. Sardar Bukhsh Khan Mahar emphasized that beyond its direct purchasing feature, the app also incorporates drone technology and satellite imagery for precise crop monitoring. This technology will help reduce input costs, improve efficiency, and increase crop yields, providing farmers with advanced tools to improve their productivity.
The agriculture minister praised Engro Fertilizers for setting a new benchmark in Pakistan’s agricultural sector with the UgAi app. He expressed confidence that this platform will help solve major issues such as artificial shortages, price distortions in the agricultural value chain, and the rise of counterfeit products—all challenges that negatively impact farmers.
With the introduction of the UgAi app, Sindh is set to lead the way towards a more efficient, modern, and sustainable agricultural sector, benefiting farmers throughout the province.
