LAHORE: Under Kissan Card Phase II, the Punjab government will start disbursing funds to farmers through the Bank of Punjab on May 22, 2025, Agriculture Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani announced.
MoU for Kissan Card Phase II: Repair & Maintenance Agreement
At Monday’s meeting on the Chief Minister’s Wheat Support Programme and Kissan Card Phase II, the Agriculture Department signed an MoU with Margalla Heavy Industries Limited, Taxila. Under this deal, Heavy Industries Taxila will:
- Service and repair 20 field-wing bulldozers
- Ensure machines remain operational during peak harvest season
Kissan Card Phase II Highlights
Minister Kirmani detailed the key updates for this second phase:
- Higher loan cap: Raised to PKR 300,000 per farmer
- Zero transaction fees: Farmers borrow without extra charges
- Diesel purchase facility: Cards now work at fuel stations
He urged that holding a Kissan Card Phase II become mandatory so farmers can access all government agri-initiatives.
Wheat Support Programme & Kissan Card Phase II Details
Beyond existing cardholders, any farmer may apply for the wheat subsidy via the dedicated portal. So far:
- 250,000 applications received
- Deadline: May 31
- Additional slots: 100,000 new Kissan Card Phase II registrations available
A total of PKR 10 billion will be distributed among 500,000 farmers under this support plan.
Verification & Approvals for Kissan Card Phase II
- Applications approved: 542,000 by Bank of Punjab
- Land-record checks: PLRA has verified nearly 500,000 applicants
Spreading the Word about Kissan Card Phase II
Secretary Agriculture Iftikhar Ali Sahoo called for a stronger awareness push across:

- TV and radio
- Print outlets
This effort aims to ensure more farmers benefit from Phase II loans and subsidies.
