The federal and Punjab governments finalized the agriculture export plan at PASSCO’s Lahore office. They aim to raise agri-exports to $125 billion by 2030 with 28 initiatives across crops, livestock, and fisheries. Six working groups will tackle IT, research, mechanization, financing, legal reforms, and sector growth.

Punjab’s Transformation Drive
Punjab Agriculture Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani detailed a Rs 400 billion package. New seed technologies and high-tech machinery will boost yields. The Punjab Kissan Card has already disbursed Rs 55 billion and enabled 9,500 subsidized tractors. Mobile soil and water testing labs will launch in every union council to guide farmers.

Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain said the plan underpins the prime minister’s second green revolution. He praised Punjab’s progress and urged digital tools to help farmers. Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman called for advanced cotton seed tech. Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo recommended lowering duties on farm machines to spur mechanization.
