Lahore,: Punjab’s flagship Agricultural Graduation Program 2025 has successfully deployed over 1,000 fresh agricultural graduates into active field internships, the Agriculture Department announced on Monday. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the scheme equips young professionals with hands-on experience, expert guidance, and a monthly stipend of ₨ 60,000, laying the foundation for a more innovative and resilient farming sector.

In a statement issued by the Department of Agriculture, officials highlighted that:

  • 1,000 agricultural graduates are currently engaged in field activities across Punjab’s key growing districts.
  • Technical teams of agronomists and seasoned farmers are providing continuous mentorship to ensure best practices in crop management and modern mechanization techniques.
  • Each intern receives a ₨ 60,000 monthly allowance, along with structured performance monitoring, enabling them to refine their skills and contribute effectively to local farming communities.

Following the programme’s initial success, the department is set to recruit an additional 2,000 graduates, who will support farmers with crop advisories, pest surveillance, and water-management strategies during the upcoming sowing seasons. This expansion reflects the government’s commitment to translating academic knowledge into practical solutions that boost yields and secure rural livelihoods.

To further streamline communication and feedback, Punjab’s Agriculture Public Helpline is operational from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at 0800-17000, while information on program activities and application procedures is available via the department’s website and official Facebook page.
