Lahore: The Kissan Card initiative represents a significant milestone in advancing agricultural prosperity, stated the Agriculture Minister. Highlighting the second phase of this initiative, the minister announced an allocation of PKR 75 billion to benefit approximately 750,000 farmers.
In a significant update, the minister confirmed that loan repayments under the Kissan Card scheme must be completed by April 30. Farmers participating in Phase 2 will now access loans up to PKR 40,000 with a reduced processing fee, making financial support more accessible.
The loan recovery period under the scheme is set from April 15 to May 15. However, the Agriculture Department strongly advises farmers to settle their loans by April 30 to ensure smoother processing and continued eligibility for future benefits.
Commenting on the success of the initial phase, the Minister for Livestock noted the Kissan Card’s positive impact. Many farmers have benefited significantly, reflecting the scheme’s effectiveness and popularity within the agricultural community.
The government remains committed to supporting agricultural growth through practical financial solutions, ensuring more excellent economic stability and improved livelihoods for farming communities.
